In numerology the day gives birthday number 1. The Life Path also uses the birth year. Capricorn is cardinal and earth. ## Key facts | Fact | Value | | --- | --- | | Sun sign | Capricorn in every year from 1930 to 2030 | | Decan | Capricorn decan 1 (Saturn) | | Sun's position at noon UTC | About 6° Capricorn | | Capricorn · element · modality · ruler | Earth · Cardinal · Saturn | | Birthday number | 28 → 1 | | Life Path by birth year | 1960: 11 · 1970: 3 · 1980: 4 · 1990: 5 · 2000: 6 · 2010: 7 · 2020: 8 | | Chinese zodiac | After Lunar New Year, so the animal is the birth year's own | | Born on this day | Woodrow Wilson (1856), Linus Torvalds (1969), John von Neumann (1903) | ## Personality of a December 28 birthday Twenty-eight reduces to 1, adding a pioneering streak to the earnest early-Capricorn Sun of December 28. At about six degrees, Saturn governs both sign and decan, linked with discipline and endurance. Together they describe a determined self-starter who sets long-term goals, works towards them methodically and rarely needs anyone else's motivation to keep going. By noon UTC on December 28, the Sun has normally reached roughly 6° of Capricorn. That places the date in the Capricorn decan that astrologers give to Saturn, the first of three. Saturn rules Capricorn and also governs the sign's first decan, which spans roughly December 22 to December 31. Birthdays here arrive at the turning point of the year, and this decan is traditionally read as the sign in its most concentrated form: patient, ambitious, realistic and willing to climb slowly. Responsibility often arrives early in life for these natives. Doubled Saturn can make them hard on themselves and reluctant to rest until the work is complete. Their quiet authority tends to grow with age, and humour, usually dry, is one of the ways they lighten what they carry. ## Numerology of the December 28 birthday A birthday on the 28th reduces as 2 + 8 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1. The birthday number is 1, but reached by a route that runs through partnership (2) and authority (8). Numerologists often read the 28th as a more cooperative kind of leader than the 1st: independent and ambitious, yet aware that big plans need allies. Those born on this day are frequently described as determined, enterprising and persuasive. As a supporting number, the 28 tends to show in a talent for starting things with others already on board, rather than recruiting help after the fact. Because the year enters the Life Path calculation, the same December 28 birthday leads to different paths across generations, among them 4 for 1980, 5 for 1990, 6 for 2000 and 7 for 2010. Some birth years on this date reach the master number 11. The Life Path calculator does the reduction for any year. ## December 28 in context: the season, Chinese zodiac and famous birthdays December birthdays arrive at the start of northern winter, around the shortest days and the year's festivities, and at the start of summer in the southern hemisphere. Sagittarius holds most of the month, with Capricorn beginning around December 21 or 22. In numerology December is month 12, which reduces to 3: expression and sociability, built from the 1 and 2 of initiative and partnership. December 28 is the 362nd day of the year (363rd in a leap year). In most years Aquarius season is under way by January 21, 24 days after this birthday. Chinese astrology is straightforward for a December 28 birthday: the new year began weeks earlier, so the birth year's own animal applies. December 28 is also the birthday of Woodrow Wilson (1856), Linus Torvalds (1969) and John von Neumann (1903). ## Frequently asked questions ### What zodiac sign is December 28?
