Interpretively, it describes someone who shows love through action: driving across the country for a friend, standing up for a younger sibling, or organising the family holiday with enormous enthusiasm and only slightly chaotic logistics. On December 6 the Sun usually sits at about 14° Sagittarius, in the second decan, where Mars is the sub-ruler alongside Jupiter. Mars, ruler of Aries, acts as sub-ruler for the middle of Sagittarius, roughly December 2 to December 11. The sign's love of freedom picks up a sharper, more competitive edge. Early-December birthdays are frequently linked with bold, energetic people who are quick to champion a cause, whether on a playing field, in a debate or on the road. Their honesty may be direct enough to startle. Mars brings drive and courage, along with impatience when life moves slowly. Channelled well, this mix of vision and nerve makes for a natural pioneer, someone willing to test an idea in the real world. ## December 6 in numerology A birthday on the 6th produces a birthday number of 6, unreduced. As the secondary number in a chart, the day of birth hints at how someone naturally contributes to the people around them. The 6 is the number of the household in Pythagorean tradition: care, responsibility, beauty in the home and fairness within the family. Those born on the 6th are often the friend who remembers birthdays and notices when someone is struggling. Their usual lesson is that looking after others works best when they include themselves in the circle of care too. The Life Path, the main number in a numerology chart, also uses the birth year, so it changes from one December 6 birthday to the next: it is 7 for 1960, 8 for 1970, 9 for 1980 and 1 for 1990, for example. Some birth years on this date reach the master number 11. ## Born on December 6: season, famous birthdays and Chinese zodiac December birthdays arrive at the start of northern winter, around the shortest days and the year's festivities, and at the start of summer in the southern hemisphere. Sagittarius holds most of the month, with Capricorn beginning around December 21 or 22. In numerology December is month 12, which reduces to 3: expression and sociability, built from the 1 and 2 of initiative and partnership. December 6 is the 340th day of the year (341st in a leap year). By December 22, 16 days later, the Sun has usually moved on into Capricorn. For the Chinese zodiac, Lunar New Year has always passed by December 6, so the animal is simply the one for the birth year. Well-known people born on December 6 include Yoshihide Suga (1948), Peter Handke (1942) and Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac (1778). ## Frequently asked questions ### What zodiac sign is December 6?
