In numerology the day gives birthday number 9, while the Life Path also depends on the birth year. Many people born on cusp dates recognise something of both signs. ## Key facts | Fact | Value | | --- | --- | | Sun sign | Aquarius or Pisces: a cusp date, so the birth year, time and place decide | | Decan | Aquarius decan 3 (Venus) or Pisces decan 1 (Neptune) | | Sun's position at noon UTC | About 29° Aquarius | | Aquarius · element · modality · ruler | Air · Fixed · Uranus | | Birthday number | 18 → 9 | | Life Path by birth year | 1960: 9 · 1970: 1 · 1980: 2 · 1990: 3 · 2000: 4 · 2010: 5 · 2020: 6 | | Chinese zodiac | Depends on the year: Lunar New Year has passed by February 18 in 116 of 121 years from 1924 to 2044 | | Born on this day | Toni Morrison (1931), Alessandro Volta (1745), John Travolta (1954) | ## The February 18 birthday in astrology On February 18 the Sun usually occupies the last degree of Aquarius, but some birth years and late hours place it in early Pisces instead, so which sign applies rests on when exactly you arrived. The 9, linked with compassion, suits either reading. Air-sign idealism and water-sign sympathy blend here into a quietly humanitarian temperament. Astronomically, February 18 puts the Sun near 29° Aquarius in most years, inside the third ten-degree slice of the sign, which tradition links with Venus. The Aquarius–Pisces cusp, around February 17 to February 20, joins two of the most idealistic signs in the zodiac. Born here, your Sun sign is set by year, hour and birthplace, because the Sun's entry into Pisces does not fall on the same day every year; a natal chart resolves it. Those who feel both are often described as imaginative humanitarians, combining Aquarius' ideas about how the world could be with Pisces' compassion for the people living in it. They may drift between detachment and deep feeling, and learn to use each when it helps. ## Birthday number and Life Path for February 18 A birthday on the 18th reduces as 1 + 8 = 9, so the birthday number is 9. The compound pairs the 1's leadership with the 8's capacity to organise and manage, then turns both towards the 9's humanitarian outlook. Eighteenth-born people are often described as able to make a real difference: they can organise a fundraiser, run a team or argue a cause convincingly. Emotional openness may sometimes lag behind their practical help. This secondary number tends to suit those who use their influence for others rather than for status, and who measure success by what it changes. Add the birth year and the picture shifts again: a February 18 birthday gives Life Path 3 for 1990, 4 for 2000, 5 for 2010 and 6 for 2020. Some birth years on this date reach the master numbers 22 and 33. Read the birthday number as a secondary note beside that main theme. ## Season, Chinese zodiac and famous February 18 birthdays February birthdays land in late winter for the northern hemisphere, when the light is visibly returning, and in late summer for the southern. The month moves from Aquarius into Pisces around February 18 or 19, from airy idealism to watery imagination. February is month 2 in numerology, a number of partnership, tact and sensitivity, which tends to give these birthdays a cooperative, quietly perceptive undertone. February 18 is the 49th day of the year. Counting forward, the next sign change, into Pisces, is usually complete within 1 day, by February 19. Chinese astrology needs care here, because Lunar New Year moves between January 21 and February 20. Across 1924 to 2044 it had passed by February 18 in 116 of 121 years, so the year page for your birth year settles it. Among the best-known people with a February 18 birthday are Toni Morrison (1931), Alessandro Volta (1745) and John Travolta (1954). ## Frequently asked questions ### What zodiac sign is February 18?
