Personality of a February 29 birthday
The leap-day birthday arrives once every four years, and fittingly it sits at a threshold: about ten degrees into Pisces, where the Moon-sub-ruled second decan begins. Twenty-nine stays as master number 11, linked with intuition. Together they describe a deeply perceptive, emotionally attuned person who often feels slightly outside ordinary time.
By noon UTC on February 29, the Sun has normally reached roughly 10° of Pisces. That places the date in the Pisces decan that astrologers give to Moon, the second of three. The Moon, which rules Cancer, acts as sub-ruler for Pisces between 10 and 19 degrees, roughly the first ten days of March. This decan tends to turn the sign's compassion towards home, family and the people closest at hand. Early-March birthdays are often linked with nurturing, intuitive and emotionally receptive temperaments, with long memories and a deep need to feel safe. The lunar influence can make moods ebb and flow in quick cycles. When they look after their own emotional tides as carefully as they tend other people's, these Pisceans often become the steady harbour that others return to.
Numerology of the February 29 birthday
Born on the 29th, your compound is 2 + 9 = 11, and because 11 is a master number it is kept as 11 rather than reduced to 2. The 2 brings sensitivity, the 9 brings compassion and breadth, and together they create one of the most intuitive birthday numbers. People born on the 29th are often described as emotionally perceptive, idealistic and capable of inspiring others. Their feelings can run high, with marked highs and lows. As a secondary number, the 29 tends to reward creative and caring outlets for that intensity, and rest between them.
Because the year enters the Life Path calculation, the same February 29 birthday leads to different paths across generations, among them 22 for 1980, 7 for 1992, 6 for 2000 and 9 for 2012. Some birth years on this date reach the master number 22. The Life Path calculator does the reduction for any year.
February 29 in context: the season, Chinese zodiac and famous birthdays
February birthdays land in late winter for the northern hemisphere, when the light is visibly returning, and in late summer for the southern. The month moves from Aquarius into Pisces around February 18 or 19, from airy idealism to watery imagination. February is month 2 in numerology, a number of partnership, tact and sensitivity, which tends to give these birthdays a cooperative, quietly perceptive undertone. February 29 is the 60th day of a leap year, the date that exists only once every four years. In most years Aries season is under way by March 21, 21 days after this birthday.
Chinese astrology is straightforward for a February 29 birthday: the new year began weeks earlier, so the birth year's own animal applies. February 29 is also the birthday of Gioachino Rossini (1792), Pedro Sánchez (1972) and I. Bartholomeos (1940).
