# March 28 Birthday: Zodiac Sign, Personality and Numerology

In Western astrology, a March 28 birthday falls in Aries, in the first decan, with Mars as the sign's ruler and Mars as the decan's. In numerology the day gives birthday number 1. The Life Path also uses the birth year. Aries is cardinal and fire.

## Personality of a March 28 birthday

Twenty-eight reduces to 1, and Aries is the sign of beginnings, so March 28 is about as pioneering as numerology and astrology get together. About seven degrees into the sign, in the Mars-ruled first decan, the person is often described as independent to the core: happiest starting things, leading from the front and learning by doing.

By noon UTC on March 28, the Sun has normally reached roughly 7° of Aries. That places the date in the Aries decan that astrologers give to Mars, the first of three. The opening stretch of Aries, from 0 to 9 degrees, is often called the purest expression of the sign, because Mars governs Aries and also acts as sub-ruler here. Astrologers traditionally picture this decan as the spark at the very start of the zodiac: quick to move, frank in speech and happiest with something to push against. The doubled Mars emphasis tends to sharpen courage and an appetite for challenge, and it can also shorten patience with slow processes. Many of these Rams recognise the urge to start before the plan is finished. Their growing edge is usually learning that a pause is not the same as a defeat.

## Numerology of the March 28 birthday

A birthday on the 28th reduces as 2 + 8 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1. The birthday number is 1, but reached by a route that runs through partnership (2) and authority (8). Numerologists often read the 28th as a more cooperative kind of leader than the 1st: independent and ambitious, yet aware that big plans need allies. Those born on this day are frequently described as determined, enterprising and persuasive. As a supporting number, the 28 tends to show in a talent for starting things with others already on board, rather than recruiting help after the fact.

Because the year enters the Life Path calculation, the same March 28 birthday leads to different paths across generations, among them 4 for 1980, 5 for 1990, 6 for 2000 and 7 for 2010. Some birth years on this date reach the master number 11. The Life Path calculator does the reduction for any year.

## March 28 in context: the season, Chinese zodiac and famous birthdays

A March birthday falls around the spring equinox for the northern hemisphere, the season of thaw and first growth, while southern birthdays mark the turn into autumn. The month is split between Pisces and Aries, with the change around March 20 or 21. In numerology March is month 3, linked with expression, creativity and sociability, a lively number for a month that ends with the zodiac starting over. March 28 is the 87th day of the year (88th in a leap year). In most years Taurus season is under way by April 20, 23 days after this birthday.

Chinese astrology is straightforward for a March 28 birthday: the new year began weeks earlier, so the birth year's own animal applies. March 28 is also the birthday of Maxim Gorky (1868), Mario Vargas Llosa (1936) and Rodrigo Duterte (1945).
