The Sun at roughly two degrees of Scorpio sits in the Pluto decan, linked with transformation and strategic intensity, and the birthday number 8 concerns authority, resources and results. Interpretively, this is a quietly formidable profile: someone who reads situations accurately and acts decisively when the moment arrives. On October 26 the Sun usually sits at about 2° Scorpio, in the first decan, where Pluto rules the decan as well as the sign. Pluto rules Scorpio in modern astrology and also governs its first decan, so late October and the first days of November hold the sign in concentrated form. This decan is traditionally associated with intensity, privacy and a capacity to go deep into whatever it touches, whether a relationship, a mystery or a personal reinvention. Trust tends to be slow and, once given, complete. Doubled Pluto can bring a strong will and a reluctance to show vulnerability. Natives often find their power in honest transformation: releasing what no longer fits rather than guarding it out of habit. ## October 26 in numerology A birthday on the 26th reduces as 2 + 6 = 8. Here the 2's cooperative instinct and the 6's sense of responsibility build towards the 8's practical power. Twenty-sixth-born people are often described as capable organisers who lead through care, managing a household, a business or a community with both warmth and firmness. They tend to think about security for the people they love. As a secondary number, the 26 is traditionally associated with sound judgement in material matters. Balancing control with trust in others is often part of their path. The Life Path, the main number in a numerology chart, also uses the birth year, so it changes from one October 26 birthday to the next: it is 7 for 1960, 8 for 1970, 9 for 1980 and 1 for 1990, for example. Some birth years on this date reach the master number 11. ## Born on October 26: season, famous birthdays and Chinese zodiac October birthdays fall in mid-autumn north of the equator, with turning leaves and earlier evenings, and in mid-spring in the southern hemisphere. Libra holds most of the month, with Scorpio arriving around October 23. In numerology October is month 10, which reduces to 1: a number of new starts and independence, carried here with a 0 that is often read as amplifying it. October 26 is the 299th day of the year (300th in a leap year). By November 23, 28 days later, the Sun has usually moved on into Sagittarius. For the Chinese zodiac, Lunar New Year has always passed by October 26, so the animal is simply the one for the birth year. Well-known people born on October 26 include François Mitterrand (1916), Evo Morales (1959) and Mohammad Reza I of Iran (1919). ## Frequently asked questions ### What zodiac sign is October 26?
