## Leo decan 3 personality

The last ten degrees of Leo are Mars's decan, the planet traditionally tied to Aries, and the effect is usually read as the Lion with its claws out. Third-decan Leos are often described as bold, competitive and action-oriented. They tend to prefer doing over talking and may rush into challenges with impressive courage. Leadership comes naturally, though their style is more commanding than diplomatic. They often stand up for others and enjoy a good fight for a just cause. Energy is high, and boredom can be hard for them to tolerate for long. Ask for volunteers and their hand is usually already up.

Mars brings drive and directness to Leo's warmth, which can make these natives formidable when committed to a goal. They are rarely passive and often take the initiative before anyone else has moved. The shadow side can include impatience, a quick temper or a tendency to dominate. Pride and competitiveness may combine in ways that make backing down difficult. Traditional texts linked this decan with valour and strength. In everyday life, it often appears as the person who leads by example and is first through the door when something needs doing. The heat cools as quickly as it rises, and they rarely sulk once a fight is over.

## Leo decan 3 in love and at work

Third-decan Leos tend to be passionate, protective partners. They often pursue love with energy and enjoy a relationship with spark, including a little friendly competition. They are fiercely loyal and may become defensive if a loved one is threatened. Patience in disagreements can be harder for them. A partner who meets their strength with confidence, respects their independence and is not intimidated by their intensity tends to suit them well. Learning to soften in conflict and listen fully deepens intimacy for this decan.

At work, this decan often thrives in competitive, fast-paced or high-stakes environments. Sports, the military, emergency services, entrepreneurship, sales, law and leadership roles that require courage can suit them. They are decisive and often willing to take risks others avoid. Slow consensus-building may frustrate them. Their growth area is collaboration: involving others in decisions rather than leading alone. When they combine their drive with patience, they can become exceptionally effective leaders who inspire loyalty as well as respect. Clear targets and a scoreboard of some kind tend to bring out their best effort.

## Dates and sub-ruler of Leo decan 3: what Mars adds

The third decan covers 20° to 29° of Leo, which in most years means birthdays from August 13 to August 22. Its sub-ruler, Mars, comes from Aries, the last fire sign after Leo, so this decan borrows a little of Aries's character while staying Leo at heart. The other two decans of Leo belong to the Sun (decan 1) and Jupiter (decan 2). Because decans are measured in degrees rather than days, the calendar dates drift by a day or so between years.

Mars adds drive, courage and a readiness to compete. A Mars decan is commonly read as more direct and physical, impatient with delay, energised by a challenge and willing to start fights that others would rather avoid. Martial decans are often linked with sport, competition, enterprise and protective instincts, and their usual lesson is to choose battles worth winning. Set against Leo's warmth, generosity, creative confidence and a big, loyal heart, that Mars note shifts the emphasis without changing the sign underneath.

## Growth for Leo decan 3

For third-decan Leos, growth often lies in channelling energy wisely. Regular physical activity can help release tension and keep moods steady. Try pausing before reacting in conflict, giving others space to finish speaking. Notice when competitiveness helps and when it harms relationships. Celebrating teamwork as much as personal victory can broaden their influence. Their courage is a genuine gift, and it shines brightest when tempered with patience, humility and an awareness that strength can also mean restraint. Martial arts, rowing or team sport can turn the same fire into discipline rather than friction.

Within Leo, decan 1 leans towards radiant self-expression and warm-hearted confidence at full strength and decan 2 leans towards big-hearted generosity expanded by jupiter's optimism and vision. A decan is one layer of a chart among many, so the Moon, rising sign and houses can strengthen or soften everything described here. These notes work best as prompts for reflection: notice which lines ring true, which feel foreign, and what that contrast suggests.
